Originally founded in 2015 by Edith Buttingsrud Pedersen, Tania Giovo and Valquire Veljkovic, ZIZ CIE. is now an ongoing collaborational platform for all kinds of dance related projects.
The name ZIZ is the title of the first bigger project the founders worked on together. We are a bunch of professional dancers, choreographers, media artists and filmmakers gathering together for the love of dance.
Here are a few things we've done so far:
Dancer / Choreographer
Edith grew up in Copenhagen (Denmark) where she started dancing classical ballet at the age of 3. 14 years later she finished the Steeps Dance Education in Denmark and moved to Munich (Germany) where she started studying at Iwansson International School of Contemporary Dance, finishing in 2011. Since then she has been working as a freelance dancer and choreographer, performing around Europe, with a few stops in Northern Africa. She has worked with a variety of choreographers, companies and artists such as Stephan Dreher, Dali Touiti, Katja Wachter, Sebastian Prantll, Ilona Roth, Jirí Kylián with Karine Guizzo, Frank Balve, Rasmus Soerinus, Bianca Anne B., Rolf Heim, Per Linderoth, Morten Rosen, and FIGURA Ensemble. In January 2014 she debuted as a choreographer for the new opera production All the World, Goodnight / Alverden Godnat for the Copenhagen Opera House. In May of the same year, she co-founded – and became a member of – the Collective Ensemble ONE:THIRD in Berlin. She is also part of the company Cie. Taucshfüllung, Varq De Alvo Dance Company, and Revolver Dance Theatre
Filmmaker / Media artist / Producer
Valquire Christopher Veljkovic is a Berlin based filmmaker, photographer and media artist. Dancer / Choreographer
Tania was born in Genova, Italia but soon after moved to The United States where she started dancing at the age of 5 to combat her lack of coordination. After years of performing as a triple threat she made a switch to strictly studying Cecchetti method of classical ballet at the age of 9 under the direction of Magda Aunon and Magaly Suarez. It was not until the age of 14 that she developed an interest in modern dance and began to study Horton, Lemon, Graham and Cunningham techniques. At 19 she began to study modern dance at Florida State University, finishing in 2013. During her education she developed her first collaborative production, “The Starving Artist Showcase” which was an all day event-integrating musical, visual, and performance art. After graduation she moved back to Europe and completed another year of education at the Opus Ballet, Firenze. While working in Firenze she developed a love for dance on film whilst working on her first project “A Series of Dismantled Almosts”. Since then she has been working as a freelance dancer performing in Europe. She has worked with a variety of choreographers including Jennifer Archibald, Constanza Marcus/Dorky Park, Loris Petrillo, Massimilliano Barachini, Arianna Benedetti, Ramona Caia, Samuele Cardini, Max Barachini, Peter Mika, Corrine Lanselle and Roberto Castello. In 2015 she co-founded and became a member of “Grab Bag” collective in Berlin and is continuously involved in cultivating a connection between all different art mediums through performance dance and dance on film. .
